Before the Apostle Paul launches into a discussion about what it means to "walk worthily of your calling", "walk in love" and "walk in light", he pauses and worships!
It’s the only fitting response to all he talked about in the first three chapters of Ephesians. Paul writes in Ephesians 3:14, “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father”. What is the reason why Paul bends his knees in worship before God?
The answer is simple: Everything he just wrote about in Chapters 1-3:13!
The spiritual blessings that we have as believers; The “BUT GOD” who stepped in and did something about our spiritual deadness; God’s extravagant grace, mercy and love for us; Christ who broke down the walls of hostility between Jew and Gentile resulting in God creating one new, unified group of believers called the church; and God’s manifold wisdom now displayed through HIS church. With everything you know about the Apostle Paul, would you expect him to respond differently?
What has been your response to everything you have been learning so far in Ephesians? Has anything brought you to your knees in surrender, submission and honor to God? Have you had moments where you have paused to worship? And then worship some more?
Take some time to read the Letter to the Ephesians, Chapters 1-3. Listen to your favorite worship music. And simply STOP! DROP! AND WORSHIP!!
