Encouragement in the Journey #10

03/30/2020 - By Linda Klesik

With more than a week on lockdown, my mind has been set on things above. While walking outside, I find my eyes looking up to the heavens. My thoughts and prayers have been centered on speaking to our Lord on behalf of our world. Many years ago when I was a young girl, I remember reading a church sign which said, "...and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20) Though I did not truly accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ until I was an adult, I never forgot the words on that sign.

Today, the Lord is speaking through the sign of what is a time of great despair in our world. Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

We must stay in His presence, keeping our minds set on Him, sending a sign to our world that Jesus is our hope. When the disciple, Thomas, asked Jesus, "...so how can we know the way?" (John 14:5) Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me..." (John 14:6)

Now is the time to obey everything He has commanded in any way we can...even in lockdown.

With utmost love to you all,
