"For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken." – Psalm 62:5-6
When God gave me these verses so many years ago, I was broken and frightened. All I knew was that He was my hope and that was all I needed to sustain me...hope. For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, David is commanding his soul to wait in silence for God. He isn't yelling or screaming. He simply commands his soul with quiet strength to wait in silence. In silence there is such peace. When we turn off the news and sit in silent expectation for the One who is our hope, our rock, our salvation and fortress, that is when we will not be greatly shaken.
My sister is waiting for test results after having been exposed to a patient who has Covid-19. I know that some of you are going through similar situations, but this is when our faith grows. The mountain tops are great. I love em to pieces, but the valleys are where we grow. In the valleys we learn lessons and truths that we could never receive on the mountain tops. This is when we dig deep. Get into the Word hard. Praise loud! Get on your knees and fight!
Now is the time to command your soul with quiet strength to wait in silence for God. Our hope is from Him. He is our immovable rock. He is our salvation and fortress. Because of Him and His amazing grace we will not be greatly shaken. We belong to the King!
All my love and prayers to my beautiful EFree Fam,
